– the screening + awards night is pushed back to 30th of Aug 2014 (30.8.2014),

life of a Photographer

life of a Photographer

This has been around for a while, but it came to mind again while chatting with friends about photo.
Where do you think you are on this graph? I think I’m at a few places, quite anxious to move into motion pictures. Especially in relation to the IGFF.

2012 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 3,000 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 5 years to get that many views.

Click here to see the complete report.

I still shoot for WHM: http://whiteheightsmedia.com/ :)

You can now download the following forms to help prepare your film entry:
>> IGFF Rules and Regulations
>> IGFF Entry Form

You might already know that I’m one of the main hands that steers White Heights Media. I’ve promoted the IGFF to friends and contacts in Malaysia, Indonesia and USA. Soon, when time becomes available, we’ll push it further again. We need about 20 – 30 film entries for a good solid screening schedule. But more than quantity, we need some solidly skilled film makers to contribute high quality entries.

To help increase the quality of entries and the overall perception of the IGFF, I hope to release a series videos that will inspire entrants and even educate them on production details that are sometimes neglected. AND if we have time, we’ll be contributing some WHM produced films, though these won’t be eligible for prizes.

More details are available on our website at http://whiteheightsmedia.com/igff/ Please share the IGFF details with everyone you know who might be interested in film making🙂

Our Christian Film Festival :)

international gospel film festival

I forgot to share this on my own blog! We’re organising a Christian Film Festival through White Heights, and it’s a pretty big deal. You can check out more details on our website at: www.whiteheightsmedia.com/igff

We originally organised the film festival with friends from our church in August last year (2011), but then the wedding season hit and we had no time to launch it. And then a year later (now in August 2012), we have time to continue organising it, but no one at church is available to contribute. So we decided to launch it under White Heights Media. As the principle sponsor of the International Gospel Film Festival, it carries our name.

The main goal of the IGFF is to act as a platform upon which Christian film makers can sharpen their skills and improve the Christian film industry. We’re inviting everyone to submit short films that carry a clear gospel message for the purpose of sharing the gospel. And the top 3 films will win some substantially awesome prizes during the screening + award night, on Saturday 31.8.2013:
1st PRIZE: Canon 5D mk3 + 24-105mm f4 IS lens, worth AUD$4000
2nd PRIZE: Canon 5D mk2 + 24-105mm f4 IS lens, worth AUD$3000
3rd PRIZE: Canon 7D + 18-135mm IS lens,worth AUD$2000

You’re most welcome to share the details of our Christian Film Festival everywhere🙂

Baby Cat toes

Baby Cat toes, 30.3.12

Those are little Baby Cat’s toes. Normal toes, on normal feet, attached to normal legs on Baby Cat’s healthy normal body. I’m grateful that God has blessed her with good health for now :3

Of course, our health isn’t God’s priority, and neither is our wealth or prestige or anything so temporary. I understand that God’s priority for us is holiness, and that everything He allows through our lives is to achieve that. If suffering will best sanctify us, then He’ll have us suffer. If wealth will most sanctify us, then He’ll have us wealthy. Horrors or happiness, sickness or strength, these are more means to have Holy people that will glorify Him regardless of temporary conditions, and then soon enough glorify Him eternally.

Catty See

Catty See, 29.3.12

God gave me a talented wife🙂 Yes, marriage is marriage, and we’re a looong way past any naive fantasies of giddy romance every moment of every day. But it’s a sweet deal to be married to a godly girl who is so pretty, so clever, so warm AND is musically skilled as well.
Here she is practising on her guitar. I love listening to her plan out and polish her songs, and I really look forward to her finished album.

freedom, 28.3.12

Grocery shopping with my 2 cats late this afternoon, and I passed this little tree. I feel a little sorry for it, considering how very restricted its future will be. Reminds me to be grateful for all the freedom I enjoy.
