I can carry with me everything I need in a single bag as a photographer! As a video camera operator however, I need quite a lot of free space in a car…
Lots of great runway shows to shoot today. Here are some nice pics from QV.
James organised a media pass for us to photograph the 2011 MSFW for his tourism company. With the pass we had access to shoot from the prime position at the end of the runway, were I shot these beautiful images (and about 1500 others…).
More to come 🙂
On top of providing couples with wedding videos, Mikey and I are continuing to expand into wedding photography. Justin and Maryanne are good friends from church so we were around great company all day. And even though we’ve photographed a number of weddings, this one was extra fun because we had so much freedom in our work 🙂

The best shots don’t really make it clear that we were up on a building roof top in the city… I think that’s because the wind really took hold of our lighting gear, blowing us around like we were holding a sail.
Tim Goh generously gave us access to the rooftop of his building, which was very kind. Thank you again Tim!
And thank you, Elodie, for modelling for us. You made it so easy for us to get beautiful shots!
Another break from video production work. Just a few pics that I liked from our shoot with Lucinda 🙂 White Heights Media organised enough time with her to use 4 completely different lighting set ups, and she tried on 3 different looks. It really was very easy to get great photos with her, and a nice way to compliment our wedding photography work 🙂 I think Mikey’s sharing more on his blog here.
Training with Mikey for White Heights Media wedding video production, which meant another break from anything to do with wedding photography melbourne.
Another chilled out Sunday after Church. The weather was obscenely cold, but Baby Cat was wrapped up warmly enough to sleep through the whole trip.
I know that the pace of this video is quite fast; I hope you don’t miss too many details 🙂 My priority is the same: to make a good looking video that carry a story, all cut within SDE (Same Day Edit) restrictions. I paid a lot more attention to audio this time, making sure to cut the song to suit my footage, and keeping verbal audio clear too.
My 2nd priority is to record a memory from this time in life. I noticed how camera-conscious Dad is in this video, but that just helps me remember that I’m there with them all too 🙂
Production specs –
and Mikey (who chose to use the 135mm 2.0L!!)
1hr shooting (aprox 20mins footage)
3.5hrs editing (2:15mins final video)
Quite a few model and actor photo sessions to go! Here’s a few samples from a shoot we really enjoyed. The controlled environment is so different to wedding photography! And we got to break from our usual wedding video production, leaving that to one of our assistants again.
…and this is some of our work from our White Heights Media photo session with Jane. It makes such a difference to work with professional models!
More photography work for White Heights Media 🙂 We set one of our assistants to continue practicing his video shooting, but no video work from us this time.
Just a simple head shot session. Mikey and I spent the day with a number of models who wanted their folios refreshed. Naomi was so easy to work with, and she loved the shots 🙂
The next 7 weekends are all booked up with photo sessions, so we’re gonna have a great collection of new work to share!
